I barely unloaded my belongings on June 4 and 5 before needing to head to Madison to surprise a friend for her 30th birthday. While it was fun, I was very tired and grumpy, but I did have a VERY Wisconsin style meal before a good solid night of drinking.
It was called Wisconsin’s best wurst and I loved it. That night was a lot of fun and I am glad I gave up rest to make it happen.
South Dakota…
I can’t say there is much of anything for the drive through South Dakota. I didn’t stop anywhere, I just kept driving towards Wall Drug. Somewhere near Wall, I took a very much needed stop and slept for the night.
South Dakota gave way to Minnesota, and I kept on trucking
all the way home.
Yes, all of my June posts are missing, but while it is nice and wet outside, now is a good time to catch up.
Back in the beginning of June I packed up all my things, including my cat, and left my 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in Rangely, Colorado. Luckily I could fit my motorcycle and all my belongings into a Uhaul trailer. This, again, reminded me just how powerful the 2010 Toyota Tundra that I own is. I could pull a fully loaded trailer, possibly overweight trailer, without even noticing.
My landlady had a 6 page cleaning guide to my apartment, most of which I did, but I doubt I will get my deposit back. I managed to clean the whole place and jump into my truck on June 2… I got about 1 hour into the drive and had to take my first nap. Fatigue was setting in really fast, so I decided to stop every two hours to just make sure I was always awake, alert, and have enough gas to get through all the boring “fly-over” states between Colorado and Wisconsin.
It didn’t take long before I had my first problem though. The Uhaul trailer had a blowout, but, Uhaul sent a guy over and I was allowed another nap while I waited for him.
Uhaul was actually quite easy to work with, I even got to stay in the truck while the other guy worked!
And so, my drive continued… from Colorado to Wyoming, and next South Dakota…
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mother’s out there. I seem to be continually failing at the paragraph a day thing, but I’ll get on it, I swear! Anywhays, here’s a poorly arranged set of photos from recent history.
Well, May day was here and heck, turns out it was actually 8 days ago. I am still working on writing a paragraph a day and doing a picture a day. I think once I am out of work I will get this on track… well, until I hike the Colorado Trail anyways.
I hope to have this website truly functional at some point. Once I do that I’ll be comfortable in sending out the url to folks.
Today I decided that, at a minimum, I would post a picture and a paragraph everyday until it becomes habit. Since I am all tired and such, I will write more tomorrow jajaja
As a partial test and partial journal entry, what better way to start something than on a 30th birthday. I wont go into much detail, but the day started with laughs and continued to be social until the very end. Margaritas, shots, bulldogging, and pool made for a great birthday!
Side note, I need to learn to video edit some clips so I can post my bull-dogging video…
